The Four Quarters
Another installment of the Poetry in Motion series hosted by DIY Publishers and punktastic.com! DIYP will as always be distributing their nifty zines so please bring along some change to donate! You'll find us downstairs in the Confession Box [not a real confession box] confessing our darkest secrets whilst watching yet another old WWE PPV

This months lineup includes:

Soft Crush: yet ANOTHER Ankles band as Lucy Roth and Laura Ankles of the locally famed @sugarrushexclamationmark play out the remainder of 2017 in style with this wonderful new project. flutes included! (she/her + they/them)

James Hunt: usually found in Brighton-based Murderhouse, James will be leaving the band behind to brave the Big City with just a guitar and cat makeup (he/him)

Siân Docksey: our first ever full comedy act comes to you in the form of Siân Docksey, a wonderful goth comedian who loves sleeping and is very confused about twitter (she/her)

Billy Degge: marking his second appearance at PIM after filling in for a bed-ridden Roo, Billy has officially joined the crew of PIM regulars with his beautifully absurdist run on prose feat medieval imagery and an inherent distrust of punchlines (he/him)

Natasha Basarab: your favourite queer jewish poet who loves wrestling, nature and openly discussing their dissociative disorders as a new form of small talk (they/them)

As always we will be doing our split sets, meaning every act performs twice! An open mic segment will separate the two rounds of performances so please get in contact with us if you wanna bag a slot, more info on this in a post soon

Four Quarters is a great venue in the heart of Peckham Rye with lots of retro arcade games upstairs and a small basement area downstairs where we'll be holding the event. The room holds about 30 people and includes lots of seating (and floor space if the seats fill up) but unfortunately isnt wheelchair accessible as there is a small flight of stairs to the basement, sorry! Four Quarters is about five minutes walk from Peckham Rye station, we'll get started about 8.00pm and be done by about 11pm. Come down early though to spend some time playing video games or eating at the venue, there are vegan options and a great beer selection!

During November all proceeds made by DIY Publishers will be donated to the Solidarity Not Silence campaign to help fund the legal fees of a group of abuse survivors currently facing a defamation case due to statements they made against a well-known British musician. DIY Publishers wishes to support and fight for the rights of all abuse survivors both in and outside of our community. More info can be found here: https://www.crowdjustice.com/case/solidaritynotsilence/

If you're an artist who would like to perform at a Poetry in Motion night please message DIY Publishers or come talk to us at the event!
